Sortby default not working

Submitted by Jeff on Mon, 2012-02-20 17:12.Troubleshooting

I've just upgraded a very old installation of DBSight to the latest beta, 4.3.2.

I have a number of websites that use dbsight results to show product data, sorted by price in ascending order, so the cheapest appear first.
But since the upgrade my sites are now showing the prices in descending order, with the most expensive first.

The default sort order is set to Ascending, in Sortable Columns, but this setting seems to be having no effect.

I can change the sort order by adding the parameter "&desc=N" (which I've tested and works correctly), but I have so many sites that I don't really want to change all my code if it's not necessary.

Lucene range query problem

Submitted by hinata on Thu, 2012-02-16 20:53.Troubleshooting

I am using DBSight 4.3.1
I have a column Salary with Type = number(integer) and Field Type = Keyword. It has values: 0, 8, 10, 50, 80, 120, 230, 255, 400, 600
When I try the DBSight API SearchQuery q = new SearchQuery("Salary:[0,100]");
or a request http://...search.do?q=Salary:[0,100]
I have a correct result with 0, 8, 10, 50, 80
But when I use Lucene Query in DBSight API
SearchQuery q = new SearchQuery("").setLuceneQuery("Salary:[0 TO 100]");
or a request http://...search.do?lq=Salary:[0 TO 100]
I have an incorrect result with 0, 10

Indexer classes not found ?

Submitted by gminet on Thu, 2012-02-16 18:11.Troubleshooting

Hi,

Under dbsight 4, while indexing we get a ton of errors about classes not found:

net.javacoding.xsearch.indexer.filter.file.TextFilter

Indeed the class does not exists in the jars (or has been obuscated). Of course nothing gets indexed .
Am I missing something ?

Empty Log File

Submitted by rehanazher on Mon, 2011-10-31 04:12.Troubleshooting

Hi,
I successfully deployed dbsight4 on tomacat running locally and created few indexes successfully as well used the same indexes in my application as well.
Now i am trying to following same configuration on my deployment server with JBOSS but when i try to create index it just says " Empty Log File " and got stuck there.
I read in one post that this may be due to large dataset , but for my local deployment datasource was and I did not face any problem.
Can anyone put some pointers how to solve this problem.
Thanks

DBSight2 0- Spelling suggestion in XML template?

Submitted by dmoreitz on Tue, 2011-10-25 16:46.Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Can someone confirm that it is (or is not) possible to have spelling suggestions come up in an XML template?
We use DBSight and integrate with an app that can only take XML as input. If there is a way of adding the spelling suggestion for incorrectly spelt words to the XML template please point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

hsqldb with tomcat

Submitted by jaym on Tue, 2011-10-18 19:26.Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have an hsqld 1.8 database using the jdbc driver. DBSight 4.2.8 is installed on a tomcat6 server on ubuntu 11.04 server.
DBSight comes up okay but I cannot get it to validate my database.
My url is: "jdbc:hsqldb:/home/jay/Desktop/inhdb/inhdb"
(I have the files on the Desktop for now to test).
I keep on receiving the following error:
Test failed! [java.sql.SQLException: File input/output error /home/jay/Desktop/inhdb/inhdb.properties java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/jay/Desktop/inhdb/inhdb.properties.new (Permission denied)]
I've tried changing the permissions of the inhdb folder and inhdb.properties and inhdb.script so it is owned by user tomcat6 but that didn't work. I've also tried running tomcat6 as root but that didn't work either.

Range search get data outside of range

Submitted by keaves on Fri, 2011-07-08 11:43.Troubleshooting

I am using DBSight 3.3.2(b266)
I have a field that is saved in the form 20110701.
If I search using somefield:[20110701, 20110702]
I get back data from 20110701 to 20110703, maybe all the way to 20110704.
If I search on a range that is not in the data I can still get results for field data that is close.
ie somefield:[20110709, 20110710]
I get results that have data for 20110707 and 20110708.
Also, if I do a general keyword search and I know that there is only one result possible and I use the range search also for a range that is outside of the one possible result I still get the one result
ie in the url I have q=S4ABCDEF+somefield:[20110709, 20110710]
I still get S4ABCDEF as a result even though the somefield for S4ABCDEF is 20110707

Query on multiple points of latitude and longitude

I want to form a query that takes multiple latitude and multiple longitude for ex (latitude:38.7936111111111 latitude:38.2161111111111 latitude:38.6863333333333 latitude:38.2086111111111 latitude:38.7 latitude:37.9936111111111 latitude:38.0127777777778 latitude:38.5267 latitude:38.0769444444445 latitude:38.8038888888889 latitude:38.8033333333333 latitude:38.7905555555556 latitude:38.7905555555556 latitude:38.8102777777778 latitude:38.6825 latitude:38.5638 latitude:38.0761111111111 latitude:38.6653 latitude:38.7522222222222 latitude:38.1249 latitude:39.1701 longitude:-109.542777777778 longitude:-110.739722222222 longitude:-109.5335 longitude:-109.371111111111 longitude:-109.564333333333 longitude:-110.497777777778 longitude:-111.010277777778 longitude:-110.9015 longitude:-110.7375 longitude:-109.613055555556 longitude:-109.613333333333 longitude:-109.606111111111 longitude:-109.606111111111 longitude:-109.301111111111 longitude:-108.974444444444 longitude:-110.704 longitude:-110.7825 longitude:-110.7254 longitude:-110.799166666667 longitude:-110.7574 longitude:-110.4477 ) and then performs the search on these points.

Trouble with search (Want to get objects as return type from DBSight)

Submitted by ramkrs80 on Tue, 2011-05-03 22:18.Troubleshooting

I am using the Google Scaffold to do a search within a polygon.
However , I am not able to get the list of points as lat and long points . Instead I am getting a bunch of text (which is the html) . Is there a way to obtain just the lat and long points as objects from the database ?
My current query looks like "search.do?indexName=ik_index&templateName=DetailSearch&q=latitude:(40.0,42.0) longitude(-110.9, -109.0)"
I also tried with "http://localhost:8080/dbsight/search.do?indexName=ik_index&templateName=&q="
I am using jquery ajax for the search.
It would be nice if someone replies asap.
I am kind of a newbie to DBsight.
